I know that its not the good forum but i must tell to everyone that Bungie.net just released the halo 2 release date and a new screenshot.

They say that they will release it in fall of 2004 and that they will not go beyond this.

My own beast: Athlon 2700xp+ (oc: 3200xp+ with 200fsb) , Radeon 9800pro (oc: 410/370) , 512mb ddr400. SO MUCH faster than my last computer (pIII 550......)

Looks pretty cool...better come out on PC quickly--and be able to run well on good systems. Screenshot is 1600x1200, which is interesting, IMO. Xbox can't run that resolution and no computer can run that resolution right now either...maybe it's a timedemo that they got the screenshot from.

OHHHHHH, NVM! I thought you said you couldn't use them because they were hi-res.

Will number 2 be over-hyped, under-performing garbage too?

I simply couldn't see what was so great about the first one. It was above average, but wasn't amazing by any stretch of the imagination. Half-life was much more fun, and when I played that I was playing it @320x240 in software rendering mode as I had no GPU to speak of and a K62 350.

Plus it simply didn't perform well enough for something of that graphical standard - which they had 4 years to port from hardware which was basically identical to a PC anyway. Just sloppy.

The performance was due to the fact the engine didnt render pre frames on the standard DX backbuffer. So the port theoretically was well done considering the engine faults to begin with.

If this post has attitude, seems to be overly aggressive, rude, distasteful to 99% of the users here, and shows a zealous defense of Intel... It’s probably Spud.
