I got an issue where my Hard Disk won't show up in file explorer nor will it show up in disk management. It shows up in my Bios and Device manager.

I've got a 240 gb SSD and 2 tb HDD in my pc.

I've tried disabling and re-enabling it from Device manager then checking disk management again. I've also tried updating drivers from Device manager but it says I have the latest drivers installed. I also reconnected it to my pc completely. None of this worked.

(I already know you have to allocate space to it from Disk Management but it doesn't show up there)
(it's a newly built pc)

yeah, the HDD isn't showing up.
You use diskpart to clean the drive.
  • You run CMD as admin
  • Type diskpart
  • Type list disk
  • Type select disk # (# should be the drive number from the list disk)
  • Type clean
Please be sure that you clean the good drive because you will wipe all data and partitions from that drive.

You can then go to disk management and initialise the drive and create a new partition for the secondary SSD.

It will solve your issue :)

And the 'problem' could be something else completely.
Like an M.2 SSD disabling a SATA port.

Let's find the problem, before applying a solution.
If M.2 disabling one of the SATA PORT. Then it is expected.

User has to see in his mobo guide if he connect M.2 SSD in particular m.2 slot.
One Sata port will get disabled.

please see the image below. This is the answer. If that's the case then need to change the sata port of hdd.

I'll try this when my friend wakes up. I'll keep you updated.
