Hard Drive questions

I notice that if I click on my computer that besides the hard drives there
is a colum marked comments. What is this for & where would I enter data if
I wished to do so?

I also notice that my flash/thumb drive is listed as being Fat32. Could I
or should I convert this to NTFS to make them the same as all of the other
drives & if I did this would the drive hold more or be any faster or better?

Most flash drives will run ntfs. It's better.

Rightclick the file icon, and look at the Properties to edit the comments.

Rightclick the column header of any column in Details view, to see the "Columns" item. This allows adding other 'details' to the
set.

I've just been given a 1GB Astone thumb drive. My computer says it's fat
32. When I try to format it the only options are fat or fat32? Is there
any other way to format as NTFS it using other software perhaps?

I'm not sure I undewrstand what you are saying. My way to format is a command line command.

start/run, type: CMD

and at the C: prompt

C:> format D: /fs:ntfs

where D: is the thumb drive.

(If the drive requires special software to format, it obviously would know what file systems it could do.)

I was saying that if I right click in my computer, on a drive I get the
option to format a drive. When you do this you get the choice of what sort
of formatting & when I do this on this thumb drive I don't get that option.
