I have a questins.. If I only put a hardrive hooked up to the harddrives controller card instead of the motherboard IDE slot.. will the bios still dedect the harddrive.. cos' I am currently have a Asus p3v4x motherboard only support ata/66. I aam thinking to get one big harddrive to replace the old harddrive.. but the motherboard itself won't support ata/100.. so I am gonna get an ata/100 card and IBM deskstaor 75 G harddrive... so just wondering how am I gonna set all these up..thanks all

there should be instructions with the controller card that explain easily how to go about doing this. In one of my computers, I have a Maxtor ata100 controller card running an ata100 Western Digital 40 GB 7200 rpm hard drive. It uses the Promise ata100 bios on the controller card, if that helps.
