so in hardwaremonitor it has the temps for each individual core which gets to around 60C max, but further up the page it says "cpu - 53C".
what temp should i be listening to?

Solution
I think when it says "CPU - ....C" it is refering to the temperature of the CPU socket itself (I don't know for certain). I think you need to be more concerned about the core temps, but I don't know. Either way your temps are fine anyways.

ok thanks. there is also a temp reading called packet temp, which is just below core temps and usually around the same temps as the cores. these temps are with a small aftermarket cooler that would fit in my small case, i was kind of thinking of overclocking but it would be unnecessary because it wouldnt improve my games performance
