Haswell i7 Engineering Sample Pinned Up Against i7 3770K

So maybe My I7 920 will get a few more years of life. I see no point in upgrading. I might as well shoot for a steller video card upgrade.

Maybe. If Haswell ditches the paste used in Ivy for the solder used in Sandy and such, then it could be worth of upgrading to if you overclock, and even that much is assuming that this engineering sample is representative of what Haswell will have to offer in performance at a given frequency and that Haswell doesn't have a significant frequency boost over Sandy and Ivy.
 
These results mean absolutely nothing. At my last job I played around with some rev 1.1 Qualcomm 8960 cpu's and they were horrible at that point. Running at only 800MHz instead of the final 1.5GHz. They constantly crashed lagged etc. When they reached V3.3 then and only then were they awesome. Could be the same thing here.
 
I need the 6 Sata ports on the new motherboards more than the Haswell, but you cant have one without the other I guess.
