I have formatted my hdd a few times this year, i have no intentions of ever doing it again. My question is, would this affect my hdd in the near future?
Not likely although by the time you format it and eventually installed OS and programs on it, it has worked for as much as few months of normal use. Same happens when you do complete defrag on it.
