HDD not recognized by Bios

I installed a card reader, upon reboot my 3.5" hdd was not recognized by the bios. I am using a 2.5" ssd as my boot drive, which is recognized. I have swapped hdd with another unit which limits the potential of a bad drive. I tried multiple sata ports (3Gb/s and 6Gb/s) + cables. I also tested the target sata port with CD/DVD, it is recognized. I deinstalled the reader to validate there was no conflict.

What am I missing?

HDD's not recognized: WD2002FAEX 2TB and Seagate Barracuda 3TB

Configuration: P8 Z68-V Pro, i7-2600k, SSD Corsair Force 240GB, Corsair HX850w

so even with the card reader uninstalled, the hdds arent being recognized? heres a silly tsk, when you plug in the hdd and boot, can you feel/hear the hdds spinning up, or are they doing nothing? if nothing occurs, check your cables (your psu is modular right?) and ensure power is getting to the drives. if it is, then we still need to check the drives them selves with eaither a second pc, esata, or a sata to usb cable. while i dont know much about your boards bios, i guess if it comes down to there, ill be learning a bit to help you out.

Thanks for the response. Hopefully I can clarify your questions.

Neither the Western Digital or Seagate 3.5" drives are being recognized in the Bios. I have removed the Card Reader (AFT Pro-55u) until I can narrow down the issue. Yes, it connects into a USB Header. I have gone out to the Bios to ensure all ports are enabled. My CD/DVD unit was recognized using the same sata port. What else could I be missing? My Mobo is an ASUS P8 Z68-V Pro.

Hope this gives you more info.

Thanks,

Thanks for the help. As it turns out, both drives were bad. I purchased/installed a third drive with no issues.
