I posted earlier regarding this. Thanks to people who helped out. I was able to get the GPU working with my new RX 580.

I recently upgraded my system. My currents specs are: Ryzen 5 1600, Gigabyte GA-AB350 Gaming 3.0, 16GB Gskill & the RX 580.

The issue is now when I plug in my GPU to my monitor with an HDMI, games refuse to run. At all. Crashes right at splash screen. But when I plug in my DVI, every game runs just fine.

Should I consider this a sign that the HDMI cable is faulty and order a new cable? I seem to have misplaced the original HDMI cable that came with my monitor. Is that causing any compatibility issue since I am using an aftermarket cable?

Should I order from amazon and keep on replacing items until I find the correct cable that sorts this issue out? Or should I just forget about HDMI and keep on running on DVI?

Thanks for your advise in advance.

The HDMI cable you are using might only be Standard HDMI which is upto 1080i(720p), and not high-speed. You'd need at least a high-speed HDMI cable for resolutions 1080p+

Does your graphics card have a display port? If so, you could try buying a DP cable to use with it, although you might need a DP to HDMI adapter for the other end, if your monitor doesn't have DP.

I'd make sure to buy a high-speed HDMI cable first and try that.
Personally, I would just keep running with the DVI port if there are no issues with it. Working out the HDMI would just be a big headache when something that does the exact same thing as the HDMI, works perfectly.
