Hellicopter sound from GPU Sapphire R9 380x 4GB

i hear a strange sound from gpu fans while playing. temps is around 55C. its like a hellicopter (not too loud sound but noticeable) i heard that the fans on these cards start working at 60C. I dont see any high temperature could it be that the fans are working on slow speed? i just dont know if its normal. I dont know if i describe it correctly by hellicopter sound..
here are my specs
cpu: i5 4690k
cpu cooling: Cooler Master Hyper EVO 212
motherboard: ASrock Pro4 Z97
gpu: Sapphire R9 380X 4GB
storage: Seagate Barracuda 1TB
RAM: Dual Channel Kingston Fury 2x4GB
psu: XFX TS 550W 80+Bronze

i'll try, i dont have some device to record it on, could it mean my gpu is dying? also i have v-synch on ...

Hey doomgreece,

I am using the same GPU and I have similar noise that you described (more like rattling noise rather than helicopter 😀). Firstly, I thought it was fan noise but it turns out it is a minor coil whine. I suggest you to run benchmark tests and listen your GPU. If noise starts at the same time with the benchmark (as it increases your gpu core clock to the max) it is probably coil whine. Other suggestion would be increasing your fan speed with 3rd party programs such as MSI Afterburner and listen your GPU again. If GPU fans cause the noise you will notice it without using any GPU intensive apps. But my bet is on mild coil whine. Keep us informed!
