Help, confused about A64!!!!!

I'm building a new system(replaceing my mobo and CPU while keeping my mem, vid and everyhting else). Anyhow, i've decided on the Asus A8V Deluxe(socket 939). I'm looking at the Athlon 64 3000(1.8ghz), however i have a couple of questions.
1. Is the Winchester core that this A64 ( http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/ProductDetail.jsp?ProductCode=80699-2 ) uses newer/better than the Newcastle core?
2. Does it support dual channel, and can i use my PC4200(OCZ PC4200) in it?
3. Does the newcastle or winchester core oc higher or about the same?
Thanks in advance, this stuff is kinda confusing, they really need to simplify their information and such.

winchester(90nm) is the new core everybody is talking about, they OC very well. 1.8 stock speed to 2.4-2.8 is what I hear. 2.4 or better on stock cooling too. and that's the 3000+

S939 supports dual channel, though to verify your mem working, you should check the component # with the Asus web site.
All of the A64s seem able to do 2.4, the new winchesters seem a little better. What really suprises is that they do it at about 50 watts.
I prefer nforce boards, the gigabyte K8NS-939 looks good. It is almost as fast as the msi board, but seems to have fewer memory problems.
Shame about your current system. I would have thought that, with the otes pwm cooler you should be good to at least 3.4ghz.

as endyen mentioned before all 939 sockets support the dual channel memory, and no winchester doesnt OC about the same as newcastle its way better in OC'in and no melting

It's not my fault that it won't OC higher, my 2.6c just won't even boot at 3.2!!! I even changed mobos from an Asus P4C800 to the Abit board hopeing for better OC, but to no avail. My ram is NOT listed under the Asus site, but OCZ is a good brand and i think it should work, as look as the BIOS lets me use the SPD cas it will have no probs.

Ok, a little off subject, but still within the scope of the thread....which would you choose for the best overclock, A64(90nm) 3000+ or 3200+?

I've been looking since i posted, on Anandtech their 3000@1.8 topped off at 2.6!!! So did their 3500, both topped off at FX-55 speeds and with stock cooling ran perfectly fine. Both were running on the 90nm Winchester core. the Newcastle does not OC as high, and runs much warmer, so go with anything Winchester.

I dont think they maxed out the 3500+. I think they just used the bar set by the max of the 3000+. I have heard that the 3200+ can often get to 2.8.

I'm looking at about the same thing for my birthday in January. I've done tons of research on this, and found the the EPOX EP-9NDA3+ may be a better overclocker then the MSI Neo2 plat. If anyone has heard other please post here. I also like the idea of the 3200+ and it's 10x multiplier better then the 3000+ and limited to only the 9x. Not the 3200+ can be used at lower multipliers.
