Getting slow FPS with my current rig,

i5 4670K at stock speeds
16GB DDR3 ram
GTX 1070 8GB
256GB Samsung SSD
2K 144HZ Gsync monitor

Looking into Ryzen platform. I just want to be able to run blackout at above 120FPS stable at 2K 144HZ Current rig dips to 55FPS in certain situations. Highest I'll see is maybe 90, this is with ALL SETTINGS low, or off, with no AA and 2K 144hz.

Thanks! Trying to spend less than $800 on CPU, mobo, and RAM combo. Likely will reuse my 1070, PSU, case, drives, etc.

Since you're 2K gaming, it's gonna be a challenge to stay at 144Hz (I mean staying there constantly without any dips below that), even with a R7 2700X.

I'd say don't spend too much on the Ryzen CPU. The Ryzen 5 2600X can easily OC to 4.0 Ghz on the Stock cooler. You'll gain quite a bit of FPS already. With a new set of 16Gb 3200Mhz RAM, this should set you back around 450$.
