Between the WD Blue SN580, Teamgroup Z44A5 and teamgroup mp44L, both 500GB, which one should I choose? I'll primarily use it for the OS drive, and they're also close in price. Do you have any previous experience with these drives, and would you recommend them? If, for example, I were to slightly increase the price, I can get the WD Black SN770. Speed isn't the main factor for me; what I really prioritize is the longevity and durability of the drive. What do you think?

Not much you can do about longevity and durability other than hope. Any could be DOA or fail on day 30 or day 3000.

Do you have some type of extremely demanding use case?

I've got a SN770 boot drive with no issues; which shouldn't signify anything to you.

Are you highly interested in benchmarks or specification sheets? If you are, most likely you can find something in them to justify a choice. 600 of something might be better than 500. That's why they publish those specs.

Maybe consider return privileges? Different vendors involved? Spend 100 hours on the net digging for anecdotes and talk yourself into placing a lot of value on them? Maybe you get lucky and find a cluster of negative opinions about a certain drive and cross it off your list because of that?

Maybe you would take a lot of comfort in a known brand rather than brand names like "Superdanny" that I often see on Newegg. Why fight that if it comforts you?
