help me overclock q6600

cant seem too get a stable overclock on this prosessor


hlp me get to 3.2ghz



processor intel q6600 2.4 stock looking too get 3.0 -3.4
mb is p5g41c-m lx
ram 2x 4g sticks ddr3-1600 cl9 240 pin kingston hyper
750w power supply
2 sata hdd
asus hd 7750
star tech heat sink and fan keeps it under 22c on prime95
windows 64bit

first of all set your PCI Express frequency to 100, this to ensure there won't be any instability issues caused by your PCI-E card.

When going beyond 333 in the FSB (with multiplier x9) you need to test it with small increments in your NB Voltage, I can't remember the max safe value for it right now, try googling for it.

Finally, check with CPU-Z if your CPU is stepping g0, earlier steppings weren't that good to OC beyond 3.0Ghz so there's that to consider.

Just some basic info here. That M/B was not thought to be a great OC'er. Good for about 350 FSB. I did not see any way to increase the voltage to your CPU in that Youtube video. With out that ability your working with what ever the M/B can give at ~ 350 FSB which is not much I agree. Might try this. Go into Chipset>Config. DRAM Timing by SPD and select disable. That will allow you to manually set your timing specs, probably something like 9, 9, 9, 24, 2T. Look on stick label or go to MFG site for detailed specs.

But with out being able to raise your Vc to your CPU I doubt if you will do any better. It is mainly the G41 chipset was not designed to handle that load. Your target of 3.0 - 3.4 GHz OC.

I realize that is not what you want to hear and I guess I could be wrong about this.
