Question Help me upgrade my fan and heatsink

So my motherboard is a m2n68-la (narra5) and the cpu has been replaced with a amd phenom x4 945. It’s been overheating and I tried replacing the thermal paste so I’m now thinking about upgrading the heatsink and fan. Please tell me what yall recommend, thank you! Idk what the case is called but the computer is a hp p6637c

Update your post to include full system hardware specs and OS information.

PSU: make, model, wattage, age, condition?

Disk drive(s): make, model, capacity, how full?

What thermal paste was used and how was the thermal paste applied?

Psu: 250w max 15y old

Disk: sandisk sata ssd 450 gigs 67 gigs used. Will plan on buying a new 1TB ssd soon

Thermal paste: thermal paste that came with the cpu. I think that’s why it’s overheating lol

Here are my recommendations. All should be compatible with your motherboard. Even the budget option should be adequate for this processor. Up to you if you want liquid cooling or not; would only recommend this if you plan to overclock your CPU.

Practically any aftermarket cooler with heat pipes or even an AMD Wraith cooler from AMD XP series which can fit in same brackets.

This is what I used to cool my Phenom 965 although it was a bit of over kill but it was cheap.

All that fit in AMD socket standard plastic plastic brackets use that type of latch, some aftermarket ones come with back plate and kit to fit various configurations. In tah case, you have to remove stabndard brackets
