hi im trying to get a reliable long lasting cdrw so far my
choices are
CDSRW4224E 4X2X24 ATAPI IDE CD-RW from creative labs
4X4X32 CD-ide -internal black color from teac
CR-4804TE 4X4X24 INTERNAL EIDE CD-RW from mitsumi
these are all low end due to price so far im leaning towards the teac but id like themost reliable so any input is appreciated.

If you are looking for cheap then go the cheapest of the three.

However, spend extra if you can and get a CD-R/RW like a Plextor 12/10/32 or yamaha with the ability to prevent buffer under-runs - it is worth the extra $$$

IMO for a better price, the Plextor is better than a Yamaha.

my price point is under 80 dollars so no yamahas or plextors for me 🙁 so far ive determined that the mitsumi doesent have a buffer underrun bufffer or whatever so i was wondering if any 1 knows if the teac and the creative cdrs have large enough buffers to prevent underrunning and if they can both write 80 min discs thx for all the replys

Mitsumi is the way to go, i mean the only way for 80 bux, it is a very good thing for 80 bux, the best one you can get for 80 bux, the only thing you can get for 80+ bux, enjoy ... hehe

Post, we'll do the "search"...

Interesting site. But appears to be somewhat outdated. I mean, their "best of the best" are 12x writers (with 4MB) at best. Come on! There are already 16x writers out there (with 8MB, too).

True...but then he's not likely to get a 16x for $80 is he?

"A house divided against itself"...pretty much sucks as an investment opportunity.
