Hi guys just want to hear your thoughts? im planning on a build upgrading from my old I7 870

I stumble the E5-2420 v2 and chinese mobo on aliexpress saw reviews of buyers can tell its legit
but im worrying about the low clock speed of the E5-2420 V2 only 2.7ghz but it has 6core and 12 threads
total build+shipping=82usd

I have search for other option and found the E3-1260L it has only 4 core 8 thread and can turbo to 3.3ghz and i can buy a used 1155 mobo localy since its on the 1155 socket cpu =58usd shipping included 1155 mobo = 29usd total build=87

what is the best upgrade for my I7 870 paired with RX 470 I wanna hear your thoughts guys I mostly used it for gaming Esport LoL and DOTA 2 and also other new games that piqued my interest Please help im rather on edge on what to choose

I'd recommend the E5-2420 V2 as it was released in 2014 as an Ivy bridge CPU. Although overall, I'd run from an Aliexpress motherboard as who knows what quality control was completed on it. Even if most buyers had a good experience if it burns down your house what is it really worth to save a bit of money? The best upgrade for your i7 870 with an RX 470 assuming you'd only upgrade your CPU would probably be a new i5 9400 or an i5 9400F as it has 6 cores and 6 threads if you want to go the Intel route, or an AMD Ryzen 5 2600 that has 6 cores and 12 threads if you want to go AMD. AMD will edge out Intel in multitasking, but the Intel CPU at the moment will perform slightly better in games and day to day lightly threaded tasks.
