I seems as though sometimes barely never when playing online games such as starcraft or league of legends the game will freeze, and on the other side of the players screen it was showing me lag. I was wondering what could be causing this freeze lag. Is it the ping servers or what? Following the freeze the game will flash black for a sec then respond. Not black screen of death, not monitor issue just as if it is loggin me out of the game. Any help would be appreciated.

Solution
can't remember where I seen it some forum post somehwere but ping for most games supposedly is good at like 50-60 and starts to cause trouble at 150 so I imagine the lag spikes you get are from when certain things are happening and your ping jumps a bit to a point where the things you mentioned happen
Well it could be internet connection or it could be that your system can't handle the game, can you be more specific about what games this happens in and what your system specs are?

It only does it on multiplayer games, and ive never seen it happen on world of warcraft. Just games like league of legends, starcraft 2 and sim city 5. All the drivers are updated and such, but it does not seem like a graphic issue. Just wondering if you guys could inform me on what could be happening throught the internet. On leage of legends ping can range from anywhere from 115 to 150 to even higher. Fps is pretty constant though.

Yep the farther you are from where the server is the worse the ping will be, even if you have great internet there was leatrix latency fix that someone made for wow that supposedly helped ping with games though you might want to try looking for that

I am not on wifi right now, but i do have a wifi built into my modem. I am also on American servers. I dont know if that helps, but I was wondering if that could still be a possibility?

If you aren't using wifi then it wouldn't be affecting anything on your wired connection what would affect it is if something else in your house was using the wifi on your modem to do things while you were trying to play games that would slow down your connection. As for you being on american servers you could go to speedtest and find their ping test and pick a location close to where the game servers are to see what your ping would be to those.

unfortunately i do not know where the servers are for those games.

i remember playing warcraft 3 when i was young on an old computer and when playing multiplayer i would experience that same kind of freeze lag with the black screen and such. Just havent seen it in so long. I guess its because i just recently got back into gaming.
