This is a strange one, and something I've been battling for almost a year now:
For the past week, my PC would sometimes freeze up for a short time before turning off completely. This happens maybe once a day, and has mostly happened when playing Red Dead Redemption 2. However, it's not tied down to gaming; I have had it once where my computer has simply switched off when watching YouTube.
Now, I've had this issue in the past. Last summer this was happening, but I figured out that it was down to my GPU overheating, going above 80 degrees even on undemanding games like CSGO, or Rocket League. Considering this was an expensive card at the time (RTX 2060), I was a little bit disappointed but after reapplying the thermal paste, and creating a custom fan curve on MSI Afterburner, it seemed to have kept the temperatures low enough to game. For a while this had seemingly fixed the problem.
But then last Christmas this was happening again. The usual. Computer freezing and switching off when gaming. However this time I knew it wasn't my temperatures - I was checking them and they never got dangerously high. I was told that this could perhaps be a problem with my Power Supply or Memory. I did a few Memtests and they came back fine, and my PSU was fairly new too. Over Christmas I was going to get myself a new Hard Drive and do a fresh install of Windows anyways, so I decided to do that first before replacing parts. After I wiped my system and installed Windows, everything was fine again. Strange?
Anyways, that brings me up to now. Computer freezing once again and switching off. Sometimes I can still hear sound coming from the computer, like music from the game before it turns off. My temperatures are fine, and I'm very confident I don't have any kind of virus doing this. I'm sort of lost at this point, and could do with some help.
