Help Please. Gigabyte Geforce 7600GT freezes at Windows logo

Just got a 7600gt from newegg. Popped it into my system and the display freezes just after the windows load screen (exactly or just before the "loading your personal settings" screen). In safe mode it freezes just after the black background and windows version number come up. Using a copy of Ultimate Boot Disk 4 Win it freezes after the windows load screen.

Now it's only freezing the display, the system continues to run and boot--I know because I can hear various windows dialog bubbles pop up from the task bar while the display just sits there pretending to load my settings.

I'm running this on an Asrock 775Dual-880Pro PT880 RT, Pentium 4 Prescott 2.8ghz.

Any advice on this?

Could be a bad card. RMA is a possibility.

What PSU are you using? If it doesn't have enough amps on the +12volt rails, your card won't run.

Running a 350w turbolink switching power supply lc-a350atx 12 volt. Got four extra case fans running off of it. Do you think that would make a difference?
