Help setting up dell u2414h with gtx 780

Just bought the display and im trying to set it up, ive connected the power cable and the usb charger cable, now with the monitor ive got display port to mini display port cable , since gtx 780 inputs are dp, hdmi, dvi.. I've tried to connect the mini dp to the monitor and the dp end to the gpu input, but when i turn on the screen i get no display port cable messege. Can anyone help me on this, i've read a review on this monitor and they've connected it to a gtx 780 using the provided dp cable, i dont understand what i did wrong. Thanks in advance

managed to solve it, had to change input method in monitor settings

Glad you solved it, that USB cable is not a "charger cable", the monitor probably has a USB hub and that USB cable is to run the USB ports on the monitor.

When you connect it to your PC you'll have to manually choose the input source by accessing the option menu of the monitor using the touch button.

I am also having major issues with this monitor and have tried many ways to connect and I still cannot get a post script/boot which means I cannot get into the bios. Any ideas ?

still getting error even after switching option to 2nd (mini dp) via touch. I connected the dp cable to GTX 970 and the mini dp to the monitor(u2414h). Please advise.
