I looking to build a new computer since my current computer rig is 13 years old. I am looking to start buying the parts in October for a build date later this year. I am looking for suggestions on the parts listed below or any alternatives. I am trying to stay around a 1500 to 1800 price range. I currently dont have a copy of Windows so that would need to be included in the budget.

Processor: Intel core i9-12900k
Motherboard: Gigabyte z790 Aorus Elite Ax
GPU: Nvidia RTX 4070
RAM: Corsair Vengeance DDR5 RAM
Storage: SAMSUNG 980 PRO SSD 2TB PCIe NVMe Gen 4 Gaming M.2
Case: Corsair 4000D
Power supply: Corsair CX750M
Cooler: ID-Cooling FrostFlow 280mm

Thanks guys.

Is there a reason you mention a 12000 series CPU rather than the newer 13000 series or the soon to be released 14000 series?

You don't need a Z790 board if you insist on a 12000 series CPU.

How much RAM do you have in mind? 32 GB would be the typical recommendation.

Are you locked in on liquid cooling?

You might get frowning at the Corsair CX power supply.

Probably no reason to get Windows Pro rather than Windows Home.

I picked a 12000 series for price but if there is an affordable 13000 then that would be even better. I want at least 32 GB but 64 GB if budget supports it. Is that power supply too weak ? I am not sold on liquid cooling just not sure which is better at the moment or safer.

13700K is slightly stronger than 12900K; price about the same

13600K is slightly weaker. Cheaper than 12900K

Also consider 13700 non-K. Cheaper than 12900K.

All of those are compatible with a Z790 board.

12900K might be harder to cool than any of the other 3.

Price compare them at your sources.

750 watts is OK for power supply, but I think the CX series is an older inferior design.

Look for Corsair models beginning with RM.

Or Seasonic Focus series.

If you actually need 64 RAM, buy it now; rather than buy 32 now and 32 more later. Few people need 64, but you might be one of them?

It might be useful if you could tell us what you will be using the PC for?
An i9 says workstation and the RTX4070 says either gaming or you need an Nvidia card as part of the workstation.
I am looking for a new gaming pc to replace my current outdated rig from 2013. I also will be doing software development work on it (Visual Studio C#). Gaming will be mostly stuff like Starfield, Final Fantasy 16( when it hits PC), and Baluder Gate.

What's your monitor resolution?

The 120mm fan goes inside the back of that case for an exhaust fan.

If someone picks the parts for you and you like that setup that's great. Go with it. I tend to put together my own builds based on all the reviews I have read with each generation of components. I also have preferred brands that I have had good luck with or not so good luck with. When I built my most recent gaming PC I started out with my mind set on an Intel CPU and an EVGA GPU. I ended up going with a Ryzen CPU and an MSI GPU. LOL. Sometimes it comes down to the way the components look, like the memory and the GPU. My first build had a white GPU in an all black setup because it was the only one I could get my hands on at the time. Hated that thing with a passion just because it was white. I have been using a 360mm water setup since my first build in 2016. It has not let me down so far and has kept a 7700K cool even after delidding it and running it at 5.0Ghz. Air vs water is another whole topic. Some people love it and some hate it. I personally don't like the visual of an air cooler. Water is much cleaner looking.
