i am using winxp pro. i was doing my windows update, and
there was this update, something about nvidia video driver
that i installed. when i restarted my computer, i could
see my start-up screen, and the winxp pro loading screen
with the horizontal bar and the blue bits running across.
however, when the login screen loads, all i see is a sea
of blue rectangles instead. i tried to log in and my
speaker plays the login music. so i know that the problem
lies with the display driver. my question is how do i
rectify this now that i cannot even see anything?
thanks!

First mistake, downloading drivers from the WindowsUpdate site rather than
from the manufacturer.

Second, did you try booting into Safe Mode and then roll back the drivers in
Device Manager?

k the problem was solved after i took your advice n
checked up on winxp's safe mode/vga mode.
i thought that since its on WindowsUpdate site, it would
be a "recommended" download, but i've learnt my lesson.
thanks!
