I cannot get any graphic intensive applications(games) to work on my pc. specs are as follows:
Duron 800 CPU
Biostar M7VKB ver. 2.0 motherboard
Gainward Geforce3 TI200 golden sample
640MB SDRAM
20GB western digital
WINXP PRO

What games in particular? What video drivers? What graphics settings?

i have tried RTCW, MOHAA, half-life (CS, DoD, Firearms, Counter-life), Ghost Recon, Operation Flashpoint, Quake 3, AvP 2, UnrealTournament 1&2, Comanche 4, and many others. i am running 175 core, 400 memory (stock settings), and i have tried 21.83, 22.50, 23.11, and the new 27.10(beta). all to no avail. By not working i mean that the games just lockup at random times during game play, or simply dont load.

hey ,boy.
i think the problem is on your OS.
understand?
ever i always had these problem on my win2000~
when i replaced it to win98
all problem has gone~

who let tom out!
who who who!!!
😡

The problem is NOT OS related.

I just finished a 2 hour session of MOHAA without a hiccup. I was playing at 1280 x 1024 with all options maxxed. I am also running Windows XP Pro, but my hardware differs from yours.

Asus A7V mobo
AMD Athlon 1 GHz
512MB PC133 RAM
ATi 64MB Radeon VIVO

I'm wondering what kind of power supply you're using. If it's not a decent one, that could be your problem. I'd really recommend a 300W or better... or at the very least, a good high-end 250W.

The other thing to consider is the heat issue. Even if your CPU isn't getting to hot, your vid card might be. Check the temp inside the case.. hopefully some of this helps.

UT2 waas awsome untill it lockedup. very smooth graphics and very intense game play. the graphics are insanly life like, even the leaves on the trees move and are 3d.
i have a 300watt power and the video card is effectivly cooled.
can anyone come up with something else.
PS:I have tried the OS switching, and to noavail. (WIN98, WIN98SE, WIN2000, WINXP Pro)

Are the correct chipset drivers installed? Or maybe you could try obtaining the latest chipset drivers (especially the AGP driver)

Check in dxdiag and make sure AGP is enabled.
Start>run> type dxdiag

Or use WCPUid and make sure AGP is installed.

Are you over clocking your system?

What specs are you running your gainward at? I can run mine (Gainward GF3 PowerPack!!!) at 260/575 for about an hour and it will lockup after that.

I can safely run it at 247/575 and run Q3 at 1280x1024 high quality + FSAA 4X perfectly.

I think it might have to do with your card if everything seems to run ok, check to make sure all you fans are working and monitor your case temp...
