[SOLVED] hi just checking if anyone is able to give me a hand with this build?

I put everything together in the build and started it but the pc wont show anything on the screen also noticed on the motherboard has a little LED that flashes everytime it tries to start/restart. The LED says CPU when start and then goes straight to DRAM and sits on that until it tries to reboot i wa thinking that i need to update my motherboard bios as alot of people say that that is what needs to be done?

16gb ddr4
gtx 1660 super
Gigabyte B450 AORUS ELITE ATX AM4 Motherboard

Yup, you need an updated BIOS. Unfortunately, you picked up a motherboard that requires a CPU that works with the motherboard already in order to update the BIOS. You have a few options: find a local shop that will update it for you, contact Gigabyte to see if they will flash it to you, or contact AMD for a boot kit.

okay thank you for your reply, would i be able to use the board with a ryzen 3200g to boot into windows and update the bios or would i still have to do one of the other options?

There should be a sticker on the motherboard indicating what BIOS version it has. You would need to cross-reference it with this list:

If you can't find a sticker, you most likely have F1, the initial BIOS, which means you'll need to use a CPU that the motherboard "knows about" in the F1 BIOS if you do it yourself.
