Hi all,
I would like to hide the location from where I work with my laptop and make it appear that I always work from London (also when I'm located in another city/country).
The laptop has not a GPS sensor, so I guess the only way to identify the location is through the IP address.
Do you see any other way to identify the location of a device?
If I use a VPN can I be sure that the real location of the device is not disclose or there can be some other thing I should pay attention to?

Thanks in advance

In general is should work. It might be possible to determine you are using a vpn services IP address. You can get past this by running your own vpn on say a amazon data center in london.
Be careful about using wifi there are apps that will scan for AP and use that to locate you. Mostly this is a phone thing but similar apps can be run on windows.

Next you can not hide the latency. If you are in say Australia it will still have the added time it take for you data to get between the actual location and the london data center. So lets say you were using a server also in london from a coffee shop in london. You would get say 10ms. But if you used vpn you would now have 200+ms going from Australia to the vpn server and then the same 10ms to go locally.

When you get very high extra delays like that they may start to suspect you are not actually in london.

Do you have a close family member or friend in London that would allow you to use their internet??

Make sure they have fiber with good upload speed. Buy them a router or box that's set up to act as a VPN server. Set up an internet kill switch on your laptop, so you can only connect through the VPN. Then connect to the VPN you set up at their house. There's really no way to tell you're not in London, other than perhaps the added latency. They'll think you're at your family members house.
