bit of a weird one, following some tweaks i did to my pc ive noticed that rust basically cant run. upon opening rust my cpu usage jumps up to 100% and my fps is a steady 3 fps which is strange considering all other games i play run just fine like EFT, R6, ARK, ETC. the recent tweaks i did were a clean Nvidia driver install i also turned off some useless windows services and all of the windows security. my specs : 3080 12GB 7800x3d 32gb ram
cpu temps sit around 80c and gpu temps around 60c when in rust menu

if you have any ideas why this may be happening please leave a reply

When posting a thread of troubleshooting nature, it's customary to include your full system's specs. Please list the specs to your build like so:
CPU:
CPU cooler:
Motherboard:
Ram:
SSD/HDD:
GPU:
PSU:
Chassis:
OS:
Monitor:
include the age of the PSU apart from it's make and model. BIOS version for your motherboard at this moment of time.

the recent tweaks i did were a clean Nvidia driver install i also turned off some useless windows services and all of the windows security.
You're advised to use DDU to remove all GPU drivers(intel, AMD and Nvidia) in Safe Mode, then manually install the latest GPU driver in an elevated command, i.e, Right click installer>Run as Administrator.

You might want to disable the iGPU in BIOS before running DDU as stated above.

Besides, Rust, what other titles have you taxed the system with?

If you're not having issues with any other game and you're experiencing 100% CPU load then something with that specific game and/or some background task is being triggered by said game. If you've got any mods or are using anything external to interface with the game I'd suggest looking there first as there isn't a single game on the market well enough threaded to max out 8c/16t of CPU.
