Question High RAM usage although no apps eat memory! Windows 10. Please help!

Constantly I stumble on 98-100% RAM usage (I have 8 GB of RAM), but in Task Manager I can see all of apps taking 3-4GB max! Even If I close all main apps - 80-85% RAM used.

I disabled SuperFetch(SysMain) (I have SSD), but it doesnt help.

After restart - I don't get such RAM usage, it takes hours or days to reach it.

Setup: Win10 Pro, latest update. How can I monitor processes (including Windows ones) that take RAM ?

Task Manager should tell you where the RAM is being allocated to. Once you identify that we can help more.

No it doesn't. I just summed everything in Details Task Manager Tab, and its ~2GB.

@Urzu1000 I understand! Like I said 8GB there, but If I summ up all rows - ~2GB !

Try running something like Process Explorer (part of the Sysinternals Suite, now acquired by Microsoft and available at no cost) for more detail.

Also, if you open Settings, System, About Pane what is being shown for the Installed RAM value and what is noted as usable?

Because it seems to take time to get this issue, I would think that you may have some application that is not releasing memory properly(memory leak). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Memory_leak

The RAMMap utility from SysInternals might also come in very handy.

Probably a driver leak if its not showing usage in Task manager.
Also, Task manager not the best place to look, it had a bug in Win 10 1809 where the services running didn't add up to the actual total at top.

what motherboard do you have?
