Hello,
I was wondering if I should Crossfire two HIS Radeon HD 7850's, or if I should upgrade to a better graphics card?

This is my build right now:
AMD FX-4170
ASRock 970 EXTREME3 AM3
HIS Radeon HD 7850

Here are a few examples, I can run Far Cry 3 on: Mostly High setting/some medium
AA is off
Mainly 40 FPS

Hitman Absolution: Half and Half between High and Medium settings
Texture Filtering: Trilinear
AA is off
Mainly 40 fps

Saints Row the Third: AA= 4x
Filtermode: Anisotropic 8x
On High settings
Mainly 40 fps

Crossfiring 2 nice cards like that on your processor will only lead you to frustration.

You will probably get a stutter fest.

What you need to do is upgrade or overclock your anemic processor first it's holding back your GPU.

Try overclocking first, that is mainly what is holding you back.

You will need a aftermarket cpu cooler.

You should be hitting near 60fps on both games with proper tuning on that GPU with a good processor. You will need to set down cpu intensive stuff.

Great far cry 3 xml guide, helped me turn off crappy depth of field and motion blur on it, its way sharper and better running now.

I have dual 7850's, albeit Sapphires, and I love them heaps. Great performance, more than a 7970 in most circumstances, except for a few games where crossfire isn't properly working. I was planning to get a GTX 780 in 2013, but chose to crossfire and will most likely skip that generation and get an 880 or something in 2014.
