I was wondering if there is a site that shows historical prices (ex. 5 year charts. or something like that..something like stock prices over time) of common pc components like memory, etc. ?
www.geizhals.at [german page - "preisentwicklung" feature] has something like that but it's not that far reaching as most components aren't sold that long.
So, 1 MB of extra slow RAM was 411 million bucks 50 years ago (I guess that's 2 billion in today's dollars), and 1 MB of really fast RAM was 7 cents last year (and I think it's 3 or 4 cents right now). Now that's a great investment
