How can I diagnose a faulty motherboard?

I'm trying to fix some issues I'm having with my PC at the minute, and I'm having trouble figuring out whats causing the issues. So I was wondering, what are the symptoms of a faulty motherboard, and are there any ways to figure out whether your motherboard is causing the problem?

I'm trying to fix some issues I'm having with my PC at the minute, and I'm having trouble figuring out whats causing the issues. So I was wondering, what are the symptoms of a faulty CPU, and are there any ways to figure out whether your CPU is causing the problem? My CPU temperatures are fine, and it is possible for me to boot onto windows, but it is very unstable at the minute.
