How Can I Make My PS2 Look Better on My Monitor.

I have my PS2 Slim connected to my PC monitor via an HDMI with a converter. Everything works fine, but the picture quality is not the greatest. Everything just looks fuzzy and unclear. I understand the graphics are not the best, but if my memory serves me correctly, the picture quality used to be a lot better when I played it as a child. So, on to my question: is there anyway to improve the console's picture quality at all while still using my current monitor??

I can definitely say that a SCART cable and an upscaler are much better than a component cable, but emulation still looks better. I'm unable to force my monitor into a 4:30 aspect ratio, because it's a PC monitor and not a TV. I have a feeling that a 4:3 aspect ratio would improve things, but emulation is still the best option.
it is possible that the adapter is making it look that way or the ps2 is not really compatible for newer monitors like what we have today try possibly getting a new and better hdmi cable or try different adapters

I did more research and found that an "upscaler" is the way to go, but this article makes it seem like I need a SCART connection, but isn't that a European thing?

Scart is part of old technology if it works with the ps2 then I would consider getting it even if it is European. If it doesn’t fit or match with possible adapters or the console itself I would consider trying my suggestion with new adapters or maybe a new monitor

It seems like ditching the composite cables and just using a SCART cable like this, along with an upscaler such as this one, is the way to go.

Ill give that a shot and will report back once I see the results.
