How can I update BIOS for GA-Z170Z gaming 7?

Hello, I bought new motherboard and I have to update bios to support i7, I was tried to do that, I connect only power and nothing else and put flash drive with update and nothing happened, all I saw is that motherboard was turning off and on. Help me please!

You need a compatible cpu installed to update the BIOS. You will need a Skylake cpu installed before you can update the BIOS to support Kabylake.

you need a compatible cpu to upgrade the bios


cpu is not compatible = no boot = cant update the bios

But what about Q-Flash Plus? You can upadate it without CPU

that specific motherboard does not seem to have have that feature

specifically X99 mobos only, no cpu needed

in order to update the bios you need a compatible cpu to boot into the bios

or, if you have a Z170, the 6700K is just as fast as 7700K when both are run at same clock speeds.....
