How do I install windows xp on Compaq Presario CQ56

Can anyone tell me how I install windows XP on Compaq Presario CQ56. It had windows 7 on originally but when I try to downgrade to XP it keeps telling me it's shutting down to prevent damage to my laptop

Down grading two release levels to a soon to be unsupported OS makes no sense. You should check into dual boot installations so you keep win7.

Go into bios and change ahci to ide.Then change boot order so cd drive boots first.Load xp from cd drive.
