[SOLVED] How do I know if an M.2 SSD will be compatible with my motherboard?

Hello,

There is an M.2 SSD I'd like to buy, however, I don't know how to tell if this M.2 SSD will be compatible with my motherboard. I only just learned that there are certain types of M.2 like M, B, M+B keyed.

My motherboard says I can install "an M.2 (NGFF) SSD module". It also says the socket "supports M key and 2242/2260/2280 storage devices". Does this mean that I can only install an M key M.2 SSD to my motherboard? For some reason I cannot wrap my head around this.

Your motherboard support both SATA and PCIe NVMe M.2 drives, at least according to the manual. You may have to configure the M.2 slot to PCIe mode in the BIOS if it doesnt change automatically.
