How Do I Test My Nic Card

I have been told that my NIC card is bad because i can not use me phone and computer at the same time. i HAVE TO UN PLUG MY MODEM IF I WANT TO USE THE PHONE.

if you are using the phone line, then you have a dial up modem, not a NIC involved. NIC are Network Interface Cards, using a form of ethernet cable for internet. Dial up modems use the regular phone line connection.... and unless you have 2 seperate phone lines with numbers, then only the phone of modem can be used at a time.
