How fast is a CAT7 cable?

I have been looking around the internet and finding no specific information on cat7. I found some really good deals on CAT7 cables. How fast are these cables? Do you think they are overkill for gaming (because that is how I like it)? And what could I do with CAT7?

The cable you list may actually work worse because in addition to being cat-7 it is a shielded cable. You can see the metal tabs on the side of the cable. If your equipment does not have similar tabs in the inside to ground this cable it can actually make it worse.

The cable does not control the speed the interface in your machine does. If your machine only has 100m ports you can only go 100m if it has 1g ports you can only go 1g. The cable will either work or it won't at a given speed. cat5e cable will work fine at 1g so anything else is a waste.

I'm using a cat5e now. I honestly think it is slow.

And? I honestly just get a paycheck and spend money because I can. There is no logical reason for me to have 128 gb of ram in my system. So its either I spend 10 dollars on cat 6 or I spend 10 dollars on cat 7.

Someone already answered. But currently it is connected to a 3 TB apple time capsule. The thing run 1.2 gigabits. But like I said why spend 10 dollars on a cat 6 when you can get cat 7 for the same price.

But why spend $10 for a cat6 or a cat7 cable when you can get a cat5e for $2.

Your time capsule can not run 1.2gigabits. The only interfaces that exist are 1g and 10g. So I will ignore the fact that the drive itself can not really run that fast...but lets say it did. It would be limited to 1g by the interface. Cat5e will run 1g just like cat6

Cat6 cable from the day it was introduced was a scam. It is for people that think bigger numbers mean better. They like to FEEL good about having a bigger number but there is no technical basis. Cat6 cable was invented for a alternate form of 1g interfaces that never came to market. The manufacture had to do something to sell their cable so they just print lots of marketing garbage and hope gullible people will believe them.
