Question How many fans case fans can i connect on ASRock z690m ITX

In my understanding there is 1 cpu fan connector, 1 case fan connector and 1 water pump fan connector.

So i can only put 1 or maybe 2 case fans on the motherboard?

That's correct, but you can get fan splitter cables so that your two NON-CPU fan headers can be used to run two fans per header for a total of 4 case fans, or a three way (Actually four way, as one header and three fan connectors) for a total of 6 case fans, if you wanted.
