Thinking to buy a Phanteks Pro II (http://www.phanteks.com/Enthoo-Pro2-TemperedGlass.html) and looking for fans.

This case has lots of fan places. Will it be overkill to fill all of them?

Total Fan Mounts = 15 x 120 mm / 8 x 140 mm (+6x +120mm)
Front Fan = 4 x 120 mm / 3 x 140 mm
Top Fan = 3 x 120 mm / 3 x 140 mm
Rear Fan = 1 x 120 mm / 1 x 140 mm
Bottom = 3 x 120 mm / 1 x 140 mm
Side = 4 x 120 mm

In another forum someone suggested that "top front fans pull the fresh air out of the system from the front fans before the components uses the air. It a waste of money spent"

3x front
1x top rear
1x rear

So he suggest 1 fan on top instead 3 fans.

Does more fans help cooling? If it helps i will populate all the case.

What do you thing?

The real question is do you really need all fan mounting positions populated? What sort of specs are you working with inside that chassis? You can get away with having a front only as intake and the rear as exhaust. If you want more, you can add fans to the top but please make sure that you have the same number of fans as intake as you do in exhaust.

what type of CPU cooler are you using ?
AIR-cooler: 3x140(4x120)mm fans on the front + 140mm in the back can do the job (this will push all the heat to the back of the case / adding some fans to the top will also help dissipate the heat )

AIO: 3x140(4x120) in the front and the radiator mounted at the top (fans blowing out) the front lower fans will push the GPUs heat to the back & the uper fans will provide fresh air for the Radiator's fans
