well pershing thats because gateway mobos may be similar to a brand name (asus and ECS in your case) but the gateway mobo may not have all the bells and whistles that a regular mobo would have. if you take your mobo and compare it to the retail ECS mobo, you'll see that not everything is there.....its stripped down for a reason, so people dont overclock it and damage the PC and claim it under warranty, which costs them money......its much easier for them to make money on a whole new system or pay some $300 bux just to replace the mobo. If I were you, I'd listen to all the advice you have gotten on here....

Do you think I should install vista x64 since I only have the 32 bit version and will see improvement in at least some games like Crysis or team fortress 2 (since in heavy battles it dips to 20 fps on high settings aa/af enabled and on 1600x1200 for me).

ok today after playing a game for a bit and leaving it at idle for like half hour after my core was like at 55-60C idle! so I decided to go extreme and what I did was put my fan that was on the side of the case connected to an opening (holes to let air out) right on top of the old fan and heatsink above the cpu. Seems a bit cooler now. I also stuck it in there with gum to the other fan due to the difficulty of getting screws in those small holes with plastic above them form the fan.
