How much memory?

I am running a 1 ghz Athlon system on a A7V with Windows ME. I was thinking about purchasing more memory, but I was told by a wannabe geek that my system would not benefit from any more than 256 MB I already have. Any truth to this?

That's correct, if your doing gaming. If you also do video editting/mpeg4 incodation, etc, then you want about 512

if your just messing around and gaming 256 is plenty
