So, I was looking for a cheap CPU under 100$ price and bought AMD Ryzen 3 1200 for 92$ on ebay. Few days after it I spotted that a brand new Ryzen 5 1600 is being sold for 99$. I feel like I made a mistake and I shouldn't had bought the Ryzen 3. I wonder how much did I loose by buying Ryzen 3 instead of the Ryzen 5 and how much there's a difference between these two?

Solution
The 1600 has 50% more cores, SMT and more cache. In multi-threaded workloads, that would be up to about twice as much potential performance. For games, it would depend on how lightly or heavily threaded the games you play are.
Really depends what you need the cpu for, you'll probably be fine with the 1200.

The 1600 would have been a much better deal though for that price. 6c/12t has more of a future but again, depends what you're doing. If gaming, the 1600 would be preferred.

That's why one never should be in rush to buy something. If I only took my time and did a little bit more research... My primarily goal was to use it in video editing and rendering.
