Up until this point I have only bought PC parts from amazon and BestBuy, but the GPU I want is completely out of stock everywhere and Newegg has them on back order. Is Newegg reliable when it comes to backordering?

Also how safe is it to have your credit card info on Newegg? Is it more likely to be stolen than on other websites? Is Newegg actually not a real website and everyone who talks about it are actually in on the plot? Just little concerned about putting in my credit card info on Newegg.

Newegg has been in the industry for nearly 3 decades...or longer since I took interest on this industry. You should be fine with ay purchases. If there is something that does go sideways, you have your bank to fall back on in terms of a dispute.

So back ordering from them should be fine? I'm just not sure how likely the back order to be voided or not. I read some people had their orders voided like 8 years ago from a 8 year old reddit post, but that's it.

Be aware that like other retailers, Newegg allows third party sales. I cannot recommend using anything other than "shipped by Newegg" unless that third party seller has impeccable 100% reviews.

They have been implicated a few times in the last couple of years of reselling open box as new and high grade used/returns that were obviously bad. In spite of the inconvenience of such an occurrence, I have never heard of anyone not getting their funds back due to it.

Yes. Stick to sold and shipped by Newegg. It is a marketplace just like Amazon, BestBuy, Walmart, Temu, etc. So individual sellers can still be running scams. If the price looks too good to be true, it is. Mind the shipping details as well.

If I pre-oder a GPU will I 100% get it though? And how long would it take? Would it take longer than if I had normally I expected it to be? I mean I wouldn't mind waiting a month, but 2 or 3 months? Not sure.

I have been buying from Newegg for nearly 20 years. I have rarely had an issue with them and usually can have problems ironed out with a little digging. They used to be easy to call, but that has changed.

I have purchased several items in the past with back ordering, and without any problems, except they might not tell you that it is perpetually "out of stock". They are usually cheaper than Best Buy and about the same as Amazon with some exceptions where Amazon is just slightly cheaper.
