The details was what I was trying to stay away from! It's more complex than that, but even so, why can't I just purchase a game and install it from the disk then play it. It's not really STEAM or the other third party programs fault, that we consumers have password issues, regardless of the reason. Still though the fact that my game play is controlled by a program that I HAVE TO HAVE in order to install and play the game, is very frustrating. Especially when you pay $60 for what is now just a souvenir. Not everybody wants to go through four or five hoops just to play a game. The short end, I haven't played in awhile and somehow the password I created for my account is not the right one, even though I wrote it down and placed that inside my passwords folder, stored with all my other passwords. (So I know it is correct). All I'm saying is how do we take away the exclusivity of programs like STEAM? You can't even play Skyrim and other game unless you absolutely have STEAM, says it right on the games cover. So know little johnny just bought the game and gets home to find out he has to install steam, create a steam account, log into said account, then try to install the game through the steam launcher which regardless of ISP will take you quite some time. Say he is successful, now every time he wants to play he has to be logged into his steam account, which requires an internet connection. That might seem simple to you, but seriously why the hell does anyone have to go through all that, the games still get pirated!
