How to connect speaker wire to a tv

Hello,
I have a Magnivox flat screen with small Audio outputs and I would like to connect to home round speakers i just bought into the tv. Can i run the wire out of the tv into my Sony receiver and then to the speaker to get some sound?

Yes, if your TV has RCA (Red and White) outputs, you can simply go to the input on your Sony Receiver.
