Hi!

I am building a new PC for my dad. Currently, he is using two HDDs in the RAID 0 configuration. I'd like to convert these drives to a regular, non-raid array. How do I go about that? Will I be able to connect those drives to a new motherboard without losing data? If not, is there any software that will allow me to make a backup and recover the data as separate discs?

Thanks!

Solution
With a new motherboard, you'll need to do a full OS reinstall anyway.
This includes drivers, applications....everything.

So...
Copy any personal files to some other storage device.
This includes documenting username/passwords, downloads for any software you use, license keys, etc, etc.

Build the new system. And ideally, this new system should include an SSD, not just those 2 old HDDs.
Connect one and only one drive
Install the OS/drivers/applications
Get it all up and running

Later, connect any other drives, and copy your data from wherever you saved it.
