Hi, recently purchased a gaming laptop, it has an RTX graphics processor, and an intel CPU. I went to enable the variable refresh rate in Nvidia control panel, however the option wasn't there to enable it, it shows up on the intel IGPU's driver, but not nvidia's.

On my desktop, I have 'Set-up G-sync' as an option, and also an option in the 'Manage 3d settings' as a global option, it just doesn't seem to detect VRR/adaptive sync on the new laptop in Nvidia control panel.

Any help would be appreciated, thank you!

the rtx card likely only runs when you are in a game.
generally laptops use the igpu for desktop and RTX card for games/graphical intensive activities.

Basically adaptive sync only works if the display signal is going through the iGPU. So ultimate MUX doesn’t work with it. You have to turn on freesync in AMD drivers. That’s how adaptive sync works.

Probably explains why guide only includes IGPU - https://www.asus.com/us/support/FAQ/1042713/
