Hi

Laptop model: HP Victus 16 e-0xxx

OS: Windows 10

I recently I bought an external monitor for my laptop so now I want everything to be displayed via the dGPU and not use the iGPU at all. I prefer completely disabling the iGPU, but if that isn't possible what would be the best way?

By the way, my laptop doesn't have setting for hybrid mode or dGPU mode.

Hey there,

There may be an option in the bios, but chances are, given it's an HP lappie, they will not allow you to specify which is used.

There may be a way through device manager. If you open up DM, and then go to the display adaptors, it may list both the dGPU and iGPU. If so, try disabling the iGPU. Note: Do not remove the device, only disable it. With a cautionary note too, if you disable the iGPU, I cannot tell you for sure how that will effect the system. It may require the use of the iGPU during boot or in Windows in general, and only switches to the dGPU when it's gaming or some other GPU resource intensive task. So, turning off the iGPU may have a negative effect.
