how to measure temp?

how would i go about measuring my temperature on fx 5800?

You could use a sensor from an external device. I can't remember exactly which front panel it was, but the Thermaltake Hardcano series might be it. I think they have temperature sensors that you can place on your GFX card:

Just buy a sensor, any real hardcore computer-store should have it for about 2-3$. You can connect this to your mobo (look in your mobo manual) and check any component you want. I got an extra sensor with my Asus mobo which I put on my HDD, already got Chipset, CPU, GPU, Mobo, RAM and PSU from built-in hardware sensors...
