[SOLVED] How to perform a BIOS update without CPU ?

I'm planning to build a new PC with the new Ryzen 3600 CPU. However at this very moment chipset x570 is available for this Ryzen 3000 series CPUs which is I cannot afford due to very high price .So I'm planning to buy a B450 motherboard and update the BIOS to make it compatible for Ryzen 3000 series CPU. But I don't have any other processing which works in AM4 socket and the newly purchased Ryzen 3600 CPU won't boot into BIOS before updating it .So I'm asking ..is there any way to update the BIOS before installing a CPU ? Any other idea to overcome this problem will be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

You can buy one of the B450 motherboards that have the BIOS Flashback feature (mostly MSI boards).
Or you can get a loaner CPU from AMD:
https://www.amd.com/en/support/kb/faq/pa-100
Or you can buy a cheap older Ryzen CPU to use to update the BIOS.

But you need to be aware that ALL of the BIOS versions for all the B450/X470 and X570 MB's are pretty buggy and you might have issues with them.
It may take months before they get the bugs worked out.

Typically motherboard manuals will have instructions on how to accomplish this. Make sure your motherboard has this feature and download the manual from the manufacturer's website to read the process/instructions. Then if you have any further questions feel free to ask the forum.

It used to be you needed a CPU to update a BIOS but things have moved on. As SgtScream says you need to look in the manual.

Or spend $15 or so and buy a replacement BIOS chip for your MOBO off of eBay and the vendor will flash it for you. And you will then have a spare on hand if you brick it later on.

I bricked a mobo this morning and am waiting for my eBay replacement to arrive.
